About the Role:

Sugarfina USA LLC is seeking a highly skilled Packaging Design Director to lead the design and development of key luxury packaging projects. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing, the AVP of Product Development, and the CEO to create premium packaging that reflects the brand's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and develop product packaging designs for brand launches, ensuring they meet the brand's high standards.
  • Lead design efforts on multiple collections and projects, managing timelines and resources effectively.
  • Illustrate on-brand assets, including patterns, characters, and scenes, to enhance the packaging design.
  • Create packaging renderings for Innovation team leadership concept review, product development, and selling materials.
  • Research packaging and product trends to deliver best-in-class, customer-centric packaging design solutions.
  • Lead the packaging design team, delegating tasks and providing clear direction.
  • Execute creative initiatives from concept to completion, as assigned by the Senior Director of Marketing.
  • Prepare and route packaging production files for print, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Aid the sourcing team with vendor communication, reviewing proofs and providing feedback on samples.
  • Lead other print and brand collateral needs, ensuring consistency and quality.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of packaging design experience, preferably with a luxury brand.
  • Experience with a luxury/premium CPG is a must.
  • Fluent in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of digital and print production, product packaging, and product development.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, self-motivated creativity, and strategic thinking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of packaging structure, style guides, off-set printing, and graphic design principles.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure.
