Position Title: Armed Security Officer for Educational Institutions

Job Overview:

As an Armed Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding school properties and ensuring a secure environment for students and staff. Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting regular patrols of school facilities and grounds to deter any disruptive or unlawful activities.
  • Monitoring access to restricted areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized entry.
  • Performing various assignments that may require both stationary and mobile operations, often in unpredictable conditions.
  • Executing your responsibilities in either uniform or plainclothes, depending on the specific task at hand.

Work Schedule:

Available shifts are weekdays, with hours ranging from early mornings to late afternoons.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license throughout employment.
  • Certification under the PA Lethal Weapons Training Act (Act 235).
  • Preferred: Permit to carry a concealed weapon.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in law enforcement, military police, or related fields.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment weapons qualification, drug testing, and background checks.
  • Ability to obtain a Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania laws and district policies.
  • Proficient in using office equipment and strong organizational skills.
  • Current Act 34 and FBI clearances as mandated by Pennsylvania law.
