Paralegal Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support our staff counsel office on a six-month contract. The successful candidate will work primarily in Maine and New Hampshire, providing excellent legal support and collaborating with attorneys on litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:- Review new assignments and assess immediate actions required.
- Draft and file answers to complaints in a timely manner.
- Prepare and send initial discovery packages to plaintiffs and codefendants.
- Diary and draft routine motions to expedite the discovery process.
- Perform investigative duties, including interviewing clients and potential witnesses.
- Collaborate with clients to draft discovery responses.
- Request and coordinate the processing of plaintiff's medical records.
- Create chronologies of medical and other relevant records.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in a legal environment.
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association-approved program or a certificate from an accredited paralegal program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in insurance defense is a plus.
- Strong research skills and familiarity with online investigative resources.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to independently prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish sound working relationships and work well with others.
- Competitive hourly rate: $35-$40 per hour.
