Job Summary

The Associate Director, Finance is a key leadership position responsible for developing and maintaining sound financial management systems in line with USAID and other donor rules and regulations, as well as local laws. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting, financial controls, and financial information systems. The successful candidate will provide leadership in comprehensive management of financial support and compliance functions in organizations funded via government, contracts, and grants, foundation, and commercial sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain financial management systems, ensuring compliance with USAID and other donor rules and regulations, as well as local laws.
  • Provide leadership in comprehensive management of financial support and compliance functions in organizations funded via government, contracts, and grants, foundation, and commercial sources.
  • Develop and manage financial analysis models, and develop and manage internal financial audits.
  • Develop formal reporting systems to communicate results of audit activities to management and regulatory compliance agencies.
  • Manage the activities of the finance staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in accounting, finance, business administration, or another relevant field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8+ years in general management, financial analysis, financial reporting, cash flow analysis, budget development, and forecasting on donor-funded projects.
  • USAID experience strongly preferred.
  • Past experiences managing and leading a finance department is required, inclusive of developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, manuals, and systems.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with accounting, financial controls, and financial information systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent and demonstrated organizational and presentation skills.
  • Excellent and demonstrated project management skills.
Working Conditions

The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidates FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.

Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

US Based Hiring Salary Range: $110,000- $147,000

International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
