Job Title: Director of Finance

J Harlan Group, LLC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Finance to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and financial reporting, preferably within the private equity or infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies that support the firm's strategic objectives and enhance shareholder value.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis function, providing insightful analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial disclosures in compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls and risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure transparent and effective financial communication.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and other corporate finance activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in tax, FP&A, and financial reporting, preferably within the private equity or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing high-performing finance teams.
  • Deep understanding of financial instruments, tax regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and software, including advanced financial modeling capabilities.
  • Strong academic record and a bachelor's or higher degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
