The Senior Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing standard costing, budgeting, and cost variance analysis while driving improvements in business processes. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for leadership in enhancing the standard costing system and fostering professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate manufacturing expenses and generate regular reports that compare standard costs to actual expenditures.
  • Administer, maintain, and improve the cost accounting framework.
  • Gather and analyze data to ascertain the costs associated with business operations, including raw materials, labor, and other related expenses.
  • Lead or participate in physical inventory counts and present findings to the executive team.
  • Support month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries linked to various product lines and standard costs.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure accurate costing and assist in the development of new products.
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports as requested by local or executive management.
  • Enhance reporting on standard costs and conduct variance analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing with a focus on cost accounting.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process enhancements, with a proactive approach and effective communication skills across multiple organizational functions.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities, along with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with JD Edwards ERP system.

Compensation: Anticipated salary range is $80,000 to $115,000.
