We provide expert care and all-amenities services to hundreds of residents each day, including meals, housekeeping, activities, healthcare, security, and more.

Job Summary:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Hazel Cypen Tower, you will provide direct patient care, meeting both psychological and physical needs of our patients in accordance with their care plan, regulatory agency, and departmental guidelines.

You will maintain standards of nursing care, under the supervision of registered nursing personnel, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Nursing Department and regulatory agencies.

You will also provide work direction to Certified Nursing Assistants.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Perform nursing care for assigned patients/residents per established department guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Handle admissions, discharges, and transfers of assigned residents/patients.
  • Share responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans and nursing care.
  • Perform documentation according to established standards and procedures.
  • Prepare, administer, and concisely, accurately, and completely record medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications.
  • Receive, transcribe, and carry out physicians' orders.
  • Oversee and assist with meal service.
  • Oversee, assist, and guide the work of CNAs in the daily activities.
  • Provide coaching to CNA's and participate in the annual performance appraisal process.
  • Assist in the orientation of new personnel when requested.
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
Experience:
  • Experience in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility environment preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current LPN license by the Florida State Board of Nursing
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • IV Certification preferred
Abilities required:
  • Knowledge of long-term care/skilled nursing facility environment
  • Computer literacy
  • Self-directing. Able to work with little direct supervision.
Functional Demands:
  • Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation
  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; bio-hazardous waste; flammable, explosive gas
  • Ability to stand or walk 90% of the day.
  • Ability to bend and stoop frequently.
  • Ability to do frequent lifting and turning of patients/residents per department's policies and procedures.
Infectious Material Exposure:
  • Routine exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues.

  • Ensures that resident's/patient's rights are adhered to
