About the Role:

Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team in the Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research (OPAIR). As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting OPAIR's Institutional Research, Assessment, Data Governance, Planning, and Data Science teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of data warehouses and ETL solutions on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database Infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering Team to design and implement data acquisition jobs and monitor their performance.
  • Analyze and enhance existing software development methodologies to drive continuous improvement and effective implementation.
  • Work with team members to facilitate collaborative partnerships among OPAIR and University teams by actively exchanging information and lending support to enhance data-related initiatives.

Requirements:

  • ETL, Data Warehouse, SSIS Programming, ODI, Informatica (or comparable/compatible tools/packages); SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedure/C#/VB/.Net Programming experience.
  • Data Analyst skills; Data architecture skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle Database Infrastructure.
  • Python/JSON/Powershell Scripting, familiarity with cloud technologies.
