Job Description:
The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is seeking a research engineer to join our Acoustic Data Science Department. As a research engineer, you will work on developing next-generation sonar systems and signal processing algorithms for various Navy applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop modeling and simulation of sonar systems and analysis of sonar data collected by fielded sensors systems
- Make comparisons between the measured data and sonar models, implementation of computer algorithms to extract information from the recorded data, and generation of reports and presentations to document findings
- Work on real-time/high-performance implementation of the developed algorithms and/or models
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline
- Signal Processing, Acoustics, Algorithm Development, and ability to work well as part of a team are also required
Preferred Skills:
- MATLAB, Python, C++, CUDA, time-series analysis, and signal processing
