Job Title: Fire Equipment Technician II

County of San Bernardino, CA is seeking a highly skilled Fire Equipment Technician II to join their team. As a Fire Equipment Technician II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of fire equipment, including gathering price quotes, ordering supplies, and receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing equipment, property, materials, and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather price quotes and order supplies and equipment
  • Receive, inspect, store, and issue equipment, property, materials, and supplies
  • Complete inventory and maintain records of capital equipment acquisitions, dispositions, and transfers
  • Make minor equipment repairs and sanitize uniforms
  • Provide logistical support to fire incidents
Requirements:
  • Must possess a CA Class C driver license at time of hire
  • May be required to obtain a CA Class B driver license, depending on assignment
  • Must obtain a valid California Incident Command Certification System Qualification Card (CICCS Red Card) verifying completion of S-130, S-190, and I-200 training courses within 12 months of hire and maintain throughout employment
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in researching, ordering, and issuing fire district equipment
  • Utilizing a computerized inventory system
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Office
