Job Summary:
Sofitel Washington D.C. Lafayette Square is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Reservations Coordinator to join our team. As a Group Reservations Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing group reservations, ensuring seamless execution of group events, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Group Reservations: Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service in all interactions with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Group Rooming Lists: Input group rooming lists using reservation systems, revise room blocks to maintain the required number of available rooms, and keep organized files of all groups.
- Reservation Updates: Update reservations, including cancellations, rescheduling, and shortening length of stay requests, in accordance with Sofitel Washington D.C. Lafayette Square group reservation policies.
- Group Block Inventory: Maintain group block inventory accurately and communicate changes and questions with revenue management and event services.
- Revenue Maximization: Ensure revenue is maximized by up-selling guest rooms and recommending hotel facilities when applicable.
- Client Communication: Respond to any challenges found for accommodating rooming requests by communicating with appropriate individuals or departments.
- Team Collaboration: Liaise with Sales and other departments as required.
- Reporting: Provide reservation and pick-up reports upon request.
- Quality Control: Cross-reference Group resumes with system information and ensure accuracy, when necessary.
- Client Meetings: Attend all Pre-Planning and/or Pre-Conference Meetings with clients and Event Sales Managers.
Qualifications:
- Customer Service Experience: Required; must possess outstanding guest services skills, sophisticated verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Literacy: Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Excel applications preferred.
- Opera Experience: An asset.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliability: Highly responsible and reliable.
Working Environment:
