Job Summary
Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP is seeking a highly skilled Market & Competitive Intelligence Manager to support the firm's strategic decision-making process. This role involves leveraging internal and external data and analysis to drive informed decisions regarding clients and market strategies.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in research and market intelligence, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment. They should possess a solid understanding of research techniques and technologies, analysis, and competitive intelligence. The successful candidate will be able to deliver timely, accurate, and concise reports with clear recommendations to support decision-making and firm strategy.
Responsibilities include managing and guiding the global competitive intelligence team and outsourced research provider to deliver timely research and analysis reports. The candidate will also work closely with the BDMC leadership team to support the strategic direction and decision-making of the BDMC function and the firm. They will provide research and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including the production and presentation of timely and concise summary reports with clear recommendations.
The successful candidate will be proactive in identifying and communicating information about potential opportunities to relevant stakeholders. They will also work closely with the global BD Technology team to ensure best practice use of the firm's CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics) and matter database (Foundation). The candidate will support the development of the BDMC function's data strategy and maintain a high level of understanding of the latest legal and business research methods and tools.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, as well as a detail-oriented and organized work style. They should have proven project management skills, with the ability to multitask and change priorities as required. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe and deliver high-quality work. They should also have the ability to work globally and interpret and translate business requirements into research output.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a global environment and be sensitive to different cultural perspectives. They should be effective and empathetic people managers who can attract, motivate, and develop a globally integrated, collaborative, diverse, and high-performing team.
