Overview of Responsibilities

This position involves temporary and substitute custodial duties across various educational facilities within Henrico County. Shifts are available in both morning and afternoon slots, with a maximum of 29 hours per week.

Compensation:
Salary for FY24: Starting at $15.03 per hour, adjusted based on the official start date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stripping, sealing, waxing, and buffing floors to maintain cleanliness and shine.
  • Scrubbing and rinsing floors in designated areas to ensure hygiene.
  • Damp mopping various rooms including auditoriums, libraries, hallways, cafeterias, and locker rooms.
  • Dusting surfaces in multiple locations such as auditoriums, stages, libraries, and gymnasiums.
  • Sweeping shops, staircases, entrance areas, and sidewalks to keep pathways clear.
  • Thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing restrooms.
  • Dusting offices, furniture, and cupboards while removing cobwebs.
  • Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles.
  • Consistently attending work and maintaining focus on assigned tasks.
  • Performing overtime duties as required, whether scheduled or in response to emergencies.
  • Executing additional tasks as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of grade school education.
  • Familiarity with cleaning practices, tools, and supplies.
  • Ability to utilize cleaning products and equipment effectively and efficiently.
  • Capability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
  • Good physical condition is essential.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights using ladders and scaffolding.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Salary for FY24: Starting at $15.03 per hour, adjusted based on the official start date.
