Land Survey Instrument Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Land Survey Instrument Person to join our team at Fisher Associates PE, LS, LA, DPC. As a key member of our surveying team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various surveying instruments, including total stations, data collectors, levels, scanners, and GPS devices. Your primary function will be to gather survey data for topographic, boundary, ALTA, construction stakeout, and utility surveys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate surveying instruments to gather data for various types of surveys.
  • Read and interpret maps and plans to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Complete detailed field notes and sketches to document survey data.
  • Maintain survey equipment, including cleaning and reporting any damage or issues.
  • Ensure that batteries for all equipment are fully charged on a nightly basis.
  • Keep survey trucks stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
  • Assist the Party Chief as directed and coordinate with other sectors and service lines to fulfill project needs.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of surveying experience preferred.
  • Experience in operating electronic survey instrumentation, including total stations, levels, GPS, and data collectors.
  • Customer service and client relations experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
  • Travel to project sites throughout New York and Pennsylvania.
  • Ability to traverse uneven grounds and work in physically challenging outdoor situations.
