Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. As a critical care nurse, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with complex medical conditions, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage patients with critical illnesses, such as respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and neurological disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences and values.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, including medication management, wound care, and pain management.
  • Monitor and report patient progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in nursing or higher.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia.
  • 1 year of ICU experience, with a focus on critical care nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
