Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) plays a crucial role in providing urgent care to patients facing critical and traumatic health situations. ED RNs must be adept at managing a variety of emergency cases, delivering specialized care to individuals across all age groups. This position necessitates prompt and precise evaluation of incoming patients, prioritizing their medical needs to ensure immediate and effective treatment. Extensive experience with conditions such as stroke, sepsis, and STEMI is vital, along with the capability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care in emergency scenarios, swiftly assessing and prioritizing patient needs.
  • Formulate and execute effective nursing care plans based on clinical expertise and patient conditions.
  • Facilitate clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure understanding of care processes.
  • Administer a broad spectrum of professional nursing services, adapting to the fast-paced and high-stress environment of the ED.
  • Oversee care for patients with acute and complex medical conditions, including stroke, sepsis, and STEMI.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • At least 18 months of nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting.
  • Proven performance and practice in an ED environment, with recent experience within the last six months.
  • Strong background in managing care for stroke, sepsis, and STEMI patients.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department, with patient volumes potentially reaching up to 220 per day.

Educational Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Current CPR Health Care Provider Certification.
  • BLS - AHA Certification.
  • ACLS - AHA Certification.
  • NIHSS Certification.
  • PALS - AHA Certification.
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in English (speak, read, write).
