Position Summary:

Delivers direct nursing care in environments where patients require intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to the established protocols and guidelines of the healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Gathers comprehensive information relevant to the health care consumer's condition.
  • Prioritizes care by triaging each health care consumer using age-appropriate and culturally sensitive methods to enhance patient flow, especially for those needing immediate attention.
  • Evaluates assessment data to establish diagnoses or issues.
  • Defines expected outcomes for a tailored care plan for the health care consumer or situation.
  • Implements, coordinates, and educates to foster health and a secure practice environment.
  • Assesses progress towards achieving outcomes.
  • Communicates effectively across various formats in all practice areas.
  • Exhibits leadership within the professional practice environment and the nursing field.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills that reflect contemporary nursing practices.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in health care to inform Emergency Nursing practices, ensuring care is tailored to the patient's age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
  • Operates in a state of constant alertness and safety.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensure.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • No prior experience necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent verbal communication to convey information.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Regular lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
