We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at United Employment Group, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing precast concrete buildings and other products to meet customer specifications and providing drawing packages to Operations for production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop precast concrete products and buildings to meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Provide technical support to the outside sales team with specifications, drawing criteria, and solution recommendations for customer quotes.
  • Perform manual calculations required to design MEP systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Create submittal packages, proposal drawings, and production drawing sets to facilitate efficient production and delivery.
  • Produce Bills of Materials (BOM) from manufacturing instructions and drawings to ensure accurate material procurement.
  • Conduct quality reviews of prepared drawings for the engineering team prior to submittal to sales and operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the CAD Designer team and project managers to provide technical support for order submittal packages and ensure timely delivery.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control Department to understand specifications and perform first article validation to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes using software automation and streamlining to reduce time, errors, and costs.
  • Represent the engineering team in meetings with production, quality, sales, and project managers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, civil, mechanical, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in construction and industrial design.
  • Proficient in the use of Autodesk products, including Revit, Inventor 3D, and AutoCAD 2D.
  • Project Management experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards and principles.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, hyperlinks, sorting, and searching data.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mathematical concepts, including calculations, load calculations, and metric equivalents.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of precast concrete design and a desire to continue growing and developing in the field.
  • Ability to travel to plant locations as required.
