Civic Center Maintenance Coordinator

COMPENSATION: $17 PER HOUR
WORK SCHEDULE: 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM
POSITION SUMMARYThis role is essential in supporting clients utilizing the Civic Center Complex. Responsibilities include preparing for various events (such as setting up risers, tables, and chairs), performing routine cleaning tasks within the Civic Center, and ensuring the upkeep of equipment used in daily operations. Additionally, the position involves ordering supplies and materials as necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversees the Building Attendant I and manages the Building Attendant Crew in the absence of the Building Attendant III.
- Provides assistance to clients with inquiries and requests during events.
- Sets up stages and prepares venues (including risers, tables, and chairs) for banquets, meetings, and other events held at the Civic Center Complex.
- Communicates maintenance and safety issues to the Building Attendant III.
- Orders required supplies and materials through the Building Attendant III.
- Handles and mixes cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) protocols.
- Trains Building Attendant I on the operation of various equipment, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Conducts general cleaning tasks, which may include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms.
- Replaces light bulbs and cleans fixtures as necessary.
- Performs snow removal at building entrances and adjacent walkways.
- Delivers exceptional customer service to lessees, patrons, and guests.
- Completes all duties associated with the Building Attendant I role, in addition to the responsibilities outlined above.
- Undertakes other job-related tasks as assigned.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of custodial experience, including supervisory responsibilities. A valid Texas Driver's License is mandatory.
Candidates must be available to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES- Capability to operate and maintain small to medium-sized equipment and machinery relevant to job duties.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate licensed City equipment.
- Willingness to work extended hours, split shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
