Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the hiring process in collaboration with HR and Safety, driver training, and manage residential transport deliveries, transfer station, and collection operations.
- Ensure that all scheduled drivers complete their daily tasks across all systems.
- Supervise all hauling company drivers and conduct inspections on company vehicles.
- Manage the operations of the facility and prepare necessary reports.
- Facilitate coordination among departments while maintaining staffing levels in line with workload to guarantee quality service and productivity.
- Assess equipment quality and availability daily, regularly review route data, and maintain an inventory of company vehicles and equipment.
- Engage with drivers and helpers (including monitoring via video, as applicable) to ensure effective and productive work performance, including conducting route observations and driver ride-alongs.
- Lead monthly safety meetings in partnership with the Safety Manager, review and investigate all accidents, and ensure compliance with safety regulations at all levels.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for all employees.
- Review all fleet routing software reports for accuracy.
- Address customer service issues in collaboration with sales/customer care and clients.
- Manage staffing to reduce employee turnover.
- Foster positive relationships with local communities and act as the company’s representative in community matters.
- Comprehensive knowledge of systems involved in solid waste management and disposal.
- Basic proficiency in internet usage.
- Ability to become proficient in all company computer systems, including fleet routing software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Capability to manage an operating budget effectively.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing site operations.
- Experience in solid waste management with facility oversight.
- Background in working with non-exempt employees.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
- Valid Class C driver’s license.
- Safe driving record for the past three years as evidenced by current MVR.
- Class B MSW License or the ability to obtain one within three months of employment.
Compensation: $100-$130k per year, with comprehensive benefits.
