About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician I to join our team at Jacobs. As a key member of our operations and maintenance services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our municipal clients' facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform HVAC planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs, working closely with our Building Engineer to ensure seamless operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment and building automation controls, utilizing your expertise to resolve complex issues.
  • Document work activities and other relevant tasks, maintaining accurate records for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards, upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Support our Emergency Response Team (ERT) in responding to facility emergencies, demonstrating your ability to work under pressure.
  • Other duties as assigned or required by the scope of work, including collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience as an HVAC technician in a commercial setting, with a strong understanding of building automation systems and CMMS.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as proficiency in BAS systems like Siemens.
  • A valid driver's license with no major infractions, and the ability to obtain a secret clearance for working in classified spaces.
  • Ability to rotate on-call and respond to emergencies within 30 minutes, demonstrating your commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with municipal utility clients, with a strong understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
  • Trade school HVAC training or certifications, demonstrating your commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

This role requires a high level of physical fitness, with the ability to perform safety-sensitive labor and services. You will be required to pass a Fitness for Duty test to ensure you are physically and functionally fit to perform the essential duties of this position.

The work environment will involve standing, walking, sitting, and performing repetitive hand movements, with exposure to loud noise, active machinery, and hazardous materials. You will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment to prevent hazardous contact.
