Nurse Educator

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Clinical Mentor to join our team. As a Clinical Mentor, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression for novice and advanced nurses.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse Clinical Mentor will be responsible for orienting, educating, and developing nursing staff to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities. You will provide support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression for novice and advanced nurses.
- Orient, educate, and develop nursing staff to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.
- Provide support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment.
- Apply principles of adult learning theories to facilitate learning and development of new knowledge, skills, and critical thinking.
- Identify learning needs that are consistent with standards of specialty nursing practices, clinical pathways, and nursing strategic initiatives.
- Education: BSN Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BLS from the AHA
- Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in procedural/critical care nursing; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Provider certification issued by the American Heart Association is required; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multistate RN License
