Furnitureland South is a leading home furnishings company seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our 1.3 million square foot showroom space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the interior of the building by dusting furniture, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, and woodwork; sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, cleaning, and vacuuming furniture and carpet; cleaning and restocking restrooms.
  • Maintain building accessibility and appearance by picking up paper and trash.
  • Remove trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; recycling materials.
  • Keep cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines.
  • Be open to suggesting ideas for improvement.
  • Arrive punctually and consistently for work for normally scheduled hours.
  • Perform various related duties as required.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Three years of commercial cleaning experience or a high school diploma/GED and one year of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Multitasking abilities.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Be highly organized.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to exert, force, lift, carry, kneel, or otherwise move objects of at least 25 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, hold, and lift, possibly for extended periods and to perform these functions in continuous sequence for up to eight hours.
