Job Title: Licensed Clinical Therapist / Intern Supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

Classification: Exempt / Full-Time / Hybrid / M-F 8am-5pm

Reports to: Clinical Director

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for providing counseling services to clients, supervising interns, and supporting case conferencing and community-based treatment programs. The position will also assist interns with interventions, de-escalations, and prevention efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides individual and/or group supervision to interns and associates within the agency
  • Provides direct services to designated clients, including intake, assessment, and counseling, as well as client advocacy to support self-sufficiency
  • Recruits, screens, places, and supervises interns who provide short-term counseling and case management services at multiple Interfaith service locations
  • Works with the agency's treatment team to provide/organize clinical in-service staff trainings to ensure best practice and consistency across programs
  • Supports treatment team meetings for clinical and/or paraprofessional staff to ensure compliance, best practice, and offers clinical supervision for staff working with difficult clients
  • Provides direct services to clients, including short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and linkage with longer-term services
  • Participates in case conferences for clients receiving counseling services
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with mental health providers to ensure clients with ongoing treatment needs are successfully transferred to longer-term services
  • Maintains accurate records and files and prepares reports as required by funders and agency administration
  • Completes billing and enters data into Clarity and/or other electronic data systems as required by funders and Interfaith
  • Monitors compliance with grant and contract requirements and makes recommendations to the Supervisor regarding any program changes needed to meet grant benchmarks
  • Ensures the confidentiality of client information and health records
  • Meets regularly with the Supervisor and participates in agency meetings and staff trainings
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for supervising student interns and registered associates, providing daily supervision of tasks, direction, and leadership to the team, making hiring and firing decisions, reviewing/approving time records for academic credit, conducting evaluations, and identifying and promoting professional development opportunities.

Education/Experience:

LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW required with at least three (3) years of experience in social services or counseling-related background. Must be able to supervise associates registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).

Licenses/Certifications:

Must have MFT, LPCC, or LCSW. Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Company's insurance carrier standards.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have experience and knowledge of working with disenfranchised individuals, families, and cultures
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple deadlines and working effectively under pressure, using independent judgment to produce quality work under time constraints
  • Demonstrated experience working with a collaborative team to drive successful projects to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret quantitative information
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively among a diverse workforce population and maintain sound working relations with all levels within the organization
  • Work with a spirit of enthusiasm, teamwork, cooperation, and a sense of urgency
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality over all matters in the course of business operations, including client and employee information
  • Ability to multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner
