We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse to join our team at Cody Regional Health. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to think critically and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

About the Job

The Emergency Department Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, evaluating outcomes, and adjusting the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. They will also be responsible for monitoring the hemodynamic status of patients, correctly interpreting results, and intervening as needed using ACLS, PALS, and TNCC algorithms and physician orders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, with a minimum of one year of experience in a fast-paced emergency department setting. They will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and adjust the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Monitor the hemodynamic status of patients, correctly interpret results, and intervene as needed using ACLS, PALS, and TNCC algorithms and physician orders.
  • Prepare patients for examination or procedure and assist the physician.
  • Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation, including patient history, condition, vital signs, treatment, response to intervention, and change of status.
  • Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity, function as a liaison for the patient between the physician and other healthcare providers, and teach patients based on identified learning needs.
  • Accurately triage patients, explain delays and waiting time, round in reception area, and maintain current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and patient clinical condition.
Requirements
  • CURRENT Wyoming Registered Nurse License
  • Minimum of one (two to three preferred) emergency nursing experience or three-four years of clinical nursing in a medical or surgical unit or a combined medical/surgical unit.
  • Experience in pediatrics, obstetrics, and surgery desirable.
Estimated Salary

$68,000 - $92,000 per year, depending on experience.
