About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our AWS SMGS team. As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines and infrastructure to support the organization's data and analytics needs.

You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and develop innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a robust system delivery background, well-rounded technical knowledge, and demonstrated experience working on large-scale projects.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing robust, fault-tolerant, and high-performing data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks, etc.

Additionally, you will build and optimize data storage systems to enable efficient data processing and analysis, create advanced data models, and automate data ingestion, transformation, and load processes.

As a Data Engineer, you will also monitor data pipeline performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies, develop and maintain metadata management, data lineage, and data governance frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Finally, you will mentor and train junior data engineers to develop their skills and expertise.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company.

Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
