About the Role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in Inpatient Acute Care Surgery. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality surgical services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies and results.
  • Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate in quality-related initiatives and clinical research protocols to improve clinical and system practice performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in nursing or a related field.
  • Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
  • Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Acute care certification required.
  • Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
