Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Oncology Specialist to join our team at Veritas Veterinary Partners. As a key member of our oncology department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee appointments and manage client relationships throughout the patient's visit
  • Collaborate with oncologists to conduct in-patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Administer injectable chemotherapy and radiation therapy as prescribed by the oncologist
  • Process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
  • Utilize imaging modalities, such as radiography and CT, for patient and procedural assessment
  • Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
  • Accurately calculate and deliver anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs
  • Review and understand medical records relevant to patient care
  • Provide empathetic, comfortable, and exceptional nursing care to patients, advocating for their needs during hospitalization
  • Maintain equipment on a per-use basis to ensure patient safety and best practice care
  • Communicate extensively with clients regarding oncology disease processes
Requirements
  • CVT/LVT/RVT certification or a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Advanced knowledge of chemotherapeutic agents and their administration
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service
  • Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and grow
