Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Technician to join our team at Bigfoot Staffing. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for assembling industrial packages from bare parts in a job shop and production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical components, such as air ends, blowers, and other compressed air system components, working on a shop floor.
  • Inspect components for proper assembly, specifications, fit, and finish.
  • Assemble and position components according to knowledge of the unit being assembled and through interpretation of engineering drawings or electrical schematics.
  • Position components with a forklift, overhead crane, or manually fasten parts together with bolts, screws, rivets, or other fasteners, using hand and portable powered tools.
  • Bend and install tubing and fittings for oil lubrication/cooling systems.
  • Install plumbing.
  • Align couplings and sub-assemblies to gearbox or other components.
  • Maintain staged parts and liaison between production and parts.
  • Perform all workstation and shop clean-up duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience may include mechanical assembly and disassembly.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to use and function with handheld mechanical measurement devices (micrometer, dial indicator, caliper) as well as electrical measurement devices (Fluke meter).
  • Ability to apply electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Read and wire equipment in conformance with electrical schematics.
  • Recognize common mechanical and electrical components.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must work well with others in a safe and self-directed manner.
Physical Demands
  • Exert force of 25 lbs. frequently and 50-100 lbs. occasionally. Constant stooping, balancing, crouching, reaching, fingering, and feeling.
Environmental Working Conditions
  • Noise intensity level is occasionally loud while testing machinery, hearing protection furnished.
