Job Title: Journeyman Plumber

Job Summary: ECM Holding Company is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to join our team in Texas. As a Journeyman Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures for drainage and water systems. This role may require travel up to 20% of the time on projects lasting up to several weeks or longer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair broken pipes and clogged drains.
  • Remove old plumbing fixtures to install new low-flow fixtures.
  • Utilize hand tools to fit valves, couplings, and components for tanks, pumps, or other plumbing systems.
  • Dig trenches and install pipes and piping fixtures for water, irrigation, or sewage systems.
  • Mount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipes.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools.
  • Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs.
  • Liaise with contractors and other construction workers to ensure an effective plumbing system.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Completion of a vocational school certificate program, associate degree, or apprenticeship.
  • Valid Texas state plumbing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional plumbing experience.
  • Able to read technical designs and blueprints.
  • Proficient with plumbing tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Expert knowledge in piping fitting.
  • Driver's license.

Physical Demands:

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs over shoulder height.
  • Frequent moving of heavy equipment.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, and twisting.
  • Frequent climbing and use of ladders and scaffolding.
  • Requires stamina to work extended hours.

Work Environment:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the plumber will be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme cold, heat, and humidity. Exposure to dusty, noisy job site conditions, fumes, and some chemicals.
