Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Plumber to join our team at Dallas County. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the jail facilities in accordance with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and the Department of Justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to plumbers and other personnel in performing journey-level maintenance, installation, and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Train and instruct plumbers and other personnel on plumbing tasks, including repairing and replacing pipes and fixtures, unclogging drains, and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Install and make additions to plumbing systems and fixtures, and recommend revisions to work plans.
  • Assist other trades with tasks such as installing, maintaining, or repairing equipment.
  • Ensure adequate plumbing supplies are ordered and available.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Two years of formal training in plumbing or a related field.
  • Three years of work-related experience in plumbing or a related field.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift weights in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, surroundings, and weather conditions.
