Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse will deliver case management services within the hospital setting, encompassing utilization management and discharge planning for assigned patients. This role ensures a smooth, cost-effective patient journey from admission to discharge. The nurse will collaborate with social services to facilitate optimal post-acute care services. Utilizing established clinical guidelines, the nurse will support the appropriate level of care and medical necessity throughout the hospitalization, ensuring authorization for services from third-party payers. The Registered Nurse will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and staff, to guarantee the efficient delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care. Compliance with state and federal regulations is essential, as is adherence to the Canyon Vista Medical Center Utilization Management Plan. The nurse will act as a patient advocate, fostering a collaborative environment to empower patients and their families in making informed decisions.

Position Type: Per Diem

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
  • Active AZ or Compact RN License is mandatory
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in Case Management/Utilization Management
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience in an Acute Care environment
  • Preferred: Experience in Discharge Planning
