Job Title: Yard Inspector

At Metalico, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Yard Inspector to join our team. As a Yard Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our scrap metal recycling facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect incoming loads for non-conforming materials and communicate with operators and drivers to ensure safe unloading practices.
  • Identify and record inspection data, including weight, grade, content, and quantity of scrap material.
  • Ensure customers drop the correct material in the correct designated areas.
  • Direct drivers to drop-off location(s).
  • Communicate via 2-way radio with the Weigh Master and yard personnel.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to operate bobcats, forklifts, and loaders a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of the various ferrous and non-ferrous metals is a plus.
