Job Summary

The City of Arlington seeks a highly skilled Grants Supervisor-Development to manage the administrative practices for the Center for Grants Innovation and Compliance within the Grants Management Department. This position plays a critical role in citywide grants development, implementation, and compliance, working closely with departments to secure and administer grants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and evaluate Center for Grants Innovation and Compliance staff within the Grants Management department.
  • Assist in developing policies related to grant writing, submission, and management of grants.
  • Identify resource needs consistent with City Council priorities and strategic plan.
  • Coordinate grant administration with departments, auditors, funding agencies, and other governmental agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including eligibility, submission deadlines, match requirements, procurement, and liability issues.
  • Collect, organize, and catalog information regarding grant availability, grant requirements, and funding cycles of grantors, and disseminate it to City departments.
  • Collaborate with other City of Arlington departments to ensure an accurate, timely, efficient, and transparent process for the entire grant life cycle, from proposal to close.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in communication, business, public administration, accounting, or a similar job-related field.
  • Four years of related work experience in grants administration of increasing responsibility, including evidence of successfully securing grants.
  • Two years of staff supervision and/or serving as team lead for large projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters' degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in communication, business, public administration, accounting, or a similar job-related field.
  • Two years of experience in working with a municipal government.
  • Certification in Grant Writing.
Employment Screenings Required
  • Criminal background check.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of grant administration, grant accounting, grant budgeting, grant management, and employee supervision. They will also have excellent communication and technical writing skills, as well as proficiency in using PC software, including the current Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
