Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Fluids Valve Design Engineer to join our Lunar Permanence business unit. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of cryogenic valves for our Lunar program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cryogenic valves for our Lunar program, ensuring they meet the required performance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate valve designs into our spacecraft and lunar lander systems.
  • Conduct analysis and testing to validate valve performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and technical notes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our valve designs and systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in valve and/or mechanical/fluids component design.
  • Knowledge of propulsion and fluid system components, including valves, regulators, and pumps for cryogenics and propellants.
  • Experience with design analysis tools, such as ANSYS and Thermal Desktop.
  • Ability to apply GD&T to create manufacturable, high-performing component drawings.
  • Experience with static and non-linear FEA analysis (ANSYS).
  • Ability to define and support testing of valve designs, conduct data analysis, and iterate designs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Engineering degree.
  • Experience with ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
