This role supports the Culinary Management team in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the quality of food and the efficiency of staff while adhering to safety and sanitation standards. Additionally, this position assists management with staffing, training, and scheduling.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a high-volume, upscale hotel environment or equivalent education.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food service operations.
- Certification as a 'Food Service Manager' or similar, as mandated by local regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Oversee kitchen operations to ensure high standards of food production and service.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering supplies from the storeroom to support daily kitchen functions.
- Ensure the security and proper use of operating supplies and equipment.
- Implement the New Hire Training program in line with hotel policies.
- Participate in required hotel meetings to stay updated on in-house activities, promotions, and events, ensuring effective communication with other departments.
- Assist in departmental meetings as necessary to keep team members informed about hotel information and activities.
- Encourage and practice teamwork at all times.
- Promptly communicate any concerns or significant issues to management.
- Maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude towards guests, management, and fellow team members.
- Execute emergency procedures in accordance with Loews Hotels standards.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and optimal condition of equipment and work areas.
- Comply with Loews Hotels standards, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
