Job Overview

The Vocational Nurse Safety Specialist will serve as the designated first aid provider on a construction site, coordinating and implementing the safety program. This role involves providing first aid care to injured employees, leading pre-employment exams, analyzing tasks for potential safety issues, participating in the Workers' Compensation process, and recommending risk mitigation measures to management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide triage, first-aid, and/or referral to outside medical providers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided to associates.
  • Ensure first-aid kits are stocked and equipment is clean and functional.
  • Recommend accommodations for employees on medical restrictions.
  • Provide daily activity logs to the safety team and senior leadership.
  • Conduct monthly incident analysis and provide recommendations for injury prevention.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each trade and job function to identify potential safety risks.
Requirements
  • Valid State LVN/LPN/RN license.
  • CPR certification at the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider level.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days and occasional weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification to teach First-Aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
