Position Overview: Commercial Banking Assistant II - Food & Agribusiness
The Commercial Banking Assistant (CBA) II plays a crucial role in supporting the Relationship Manager (RM) throughout the entire loan process, from initial application to closing and booking transactions, including renewals and modifications, while also addressing ongoing client needs.
This role serves as a vital link between the RM, Credit, and Loan Operations, ensuring seamless communication and alignment among all internal team members to facilitate the progression of all deals.
The ideal CBA II proactively identifies and fulfills the needs of the commercial team, providing guidance and support to Relationship Managers to enhance productivity. This position requires independent judgment, initiative, and strong critical thinking skills to ensure successful closings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the loan process and coordinate activities with the Portfolio Manager and Commercial Banker to ensure successful origination.
- Facilitate the commercial loan process by engaging with loan customers through various communication methods, representing the Commercial Bankers as needed.
- Assist borrowers in gathering all necessary documentation, entering loan data accurately into the Loan Origination System (LOS).
- Manage the imaging of documents and create electronic credit files in the document management system.
- Ensure compliance and conduct customer verifications, adhering to relevant regulations.
- Request and collect due diligence reports and provide them to the Commercial Banker and Portfolio Manager for assessment.
- Collaborate with Loan Operations to support pre-closing and closing activities, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Monitor and manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to maturing and delinquent loans.
- Engage in ongoing training and maintain knowledge of banking regulations as they pertain to the role.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial banking support preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial banking regulations and operations.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn complex systems quickly.
- Excellent customer service and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Time Type: Full time
Compensation: The targeted salary for this role is $26.01 per hour, with potential for incentive compensation and benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Health Savings Account, and Paid Time Off. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skills.
