Job Summary:
As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist - Radiology III at Kaiser Permanente, you will operate radiographic equipment, including whole body CT scanners and radiographic equipment, developing x-ray images and maintaining adequate records. You will assist physicians in fluoroscopic examinations and operate portable x-ray equipment, following standard radiation and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Explain test procedures and purpose to patients, demonstrate equipment, and assist physicians during minor surgical procedures. Assist in obtaining tissue specimens and follow standard infection control procedures.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging tests, develop digital or film images, and make prints if applicable. Load and unload imaging film in radiology equipment and perform whole body CT scans.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Check emergency equipment, restock supplies in examination rooms, and maintain equipment in good working order. Inspect equipment and instruments for damage and arrange for repair of imaging equipment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Fill requests for equipment and supplies, maintain and order supplies, and dispose of expendable medical supplies properly. Maintain patient information material and conduct in-service training.

Requirements:
  • Three years recent Radiologic technology experience, including one year of recent experience in whole body computerized tomography.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California) OR Certified Radiologic Technologist - Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Basic Life Support.
