About the Role

At Raytheon Careers, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. As a key member of our Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and partnering with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain System Requirements: Create and maintain RF and EE-related system and subsystem level requirements specifications, including interfaces, behaviors, architecture, and verification environments.
  • SE Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in RF and EE-related verification and validation efforts, ensuring all requirements are being assessed during Design Verification Testing, Format Qualification Testing, and Hardware Qualification.
  • Requirements Flow Down and Allocation: Perform requirements flow down and allocation, and develop the Requirements Verification Matrix.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead technical discussions, formulate plans of action, and leverage company Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Customer and Supplier Interaction: Lead technical conversations with the customer and suppliers.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of experience in one or more of the following technical domains, OR an Advanced STEM degree and minimum five (5) years of professional experience in the following technical domains:
  • Systems Engineering: Systems engineering, architecture, and/or design.
  • System Performance and Analysis: System performance and analysis.
  • Algorithms and Signal Processing: Algorithms and signal processing.
  • Electronics and RF: Electronics (circuit card assemblies, subassemblies, complete systems) requirements, integration, and verification, and RF Sensor sub-systems requirements, integration, and verification.
  • Configurable Logic and Firmware: Configurable Logic / Firmware / VHDL architecture, design, development, integration, and verification.
  • Requirements Capture and Management: Experience capturing system requirements and maintaining system requirements, and performing requirements definition, decomposition, and changes.
  • Security Clearance: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Agile Framework Experience: Experience using Agile framework development methods/processes.
  • Azure DevOps Experience: Experience using Azure DevOps methods/tools.
  • Fast-Paced Environment Experience: Past work experience in a challenging fast-paced environment.
  • Programming Skills: Experience with Matlab, C, C#, C++, Python.
  • Trade Studies: Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance.
  • Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle: Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle.
  • Tech Risk Evaluation: Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks.
  • Technical Communication: Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
