Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Field Service Technician to join our team at Sea America Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and repair, with experience working on industrial equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair S.E.A. machinery and retrofits at customer sites.
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of equipment.
  • Track and report machinery performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute action plans to optimize equipment availability and performance.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers, acting as a liaison between S.E.A. management and customers.
  • Escalate issues to supporting resources as needed, working with project management, customer, and field engineers to resolve problems.
  • Answer customer questions and provide assistance in a professional manner.
  • Perform administrative and coordination duties, including pass-downs, work orders, field service reports, and monthly reports.
  • Keep a record of completed repairs and equipment maintenance.
  • Develop and implement measures to prevent safety risks.
  • Provide on-call day-time support according to the company's on-call schedule, rotating among the technical support team.
  • Provide field service support to other S.E.A. client locations (up to 40%).
  • Perform additional maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Understanding and use of safe work practices (OSHA 10 General Industry or completion within a predetermined time frame after hire).

  • Clear and effective English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
  • Willingness to continue learning and growing in a professional environment.
  • Ability to train and mentor engineers and customer employees.
  • Korean language skills preferred, not required.
Education & Experience
  • Understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience, ideally 5+ years of experience and/or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, technical college completion, vocational school training, or other relevant education in an applicable field of expertise, or equivalent job experience.
  • Experience working on an industrial site is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required. Knowledge of robotics, pneumatics, and hydraulics preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Recommended knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and NEC (National Electrical Code).
  • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID).
  • Strong understanding of basic operating principles, safety requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing piping issues.
  • Capable of following manuals for new upgrades to existing tools.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of hand tools.
  • Skilled in plastic welding for installations.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic functions in tools.
  • Experience with laser leveling tools is a plus, but not required.
Working Conditions
  • Standard work hours Monday through Friday, 8-10 hours each day. Additional hours as project requires.
  • Travel up to 40% of the time, dependent on company needs, and may include international travel for training on S.E.A.'s products and processes.
  • Employee must be comfortable working in tight, small spaces on a routine basis.
  • Employee must be comfortable working in a clean room environment, wearing appropriate PPE to maintain clean room standards.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds in weight unaided.
  • Work is often conducted at a customer site and requires familiarization with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety.
  • Expect to spend more than 50% of the time inside the factory working with S.E.A. equipment.
  • Position works under the direction of a manager and in close alignment with Field Service Site Lead.
  • Driver's License and passport or ability to obtain a passport in a timely manner required for this position.

Salary is dependent on experience and location - $65,000-$75,000 annual base salary + benefits and bonus program.
