Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer precise and therapeutic doses of external-beam radiation therapy to targeted areas for both curative and palliative cancer treatment.
  • Ensure patient safety and quality care by adhering to established radiation safety protocols and operating equipment correctly.
  • Implement treatment plans as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, following professional standards and departmental guidelines.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for various patient demographics.
  • Stay informed about advancements in radiation therapy by engaging with relevant literature and attending professional development opportunities.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform treatment assessments and planning in alignment with physician directives.
  • Deliver radiation therapy using a linear accelerator according to the established treatment plan.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in patient records and departmental logs, participating in quality assurance and equipment checks.
  • Support departmental efficiency by undertaking general administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
  • Preferred: One year of relevant experience demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Required: American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) (T) certification.
  • Current licensure as a Certified Radiological Technologist/Therapeutic in the state.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Membership in the American Society of Radiological Technologists (ASRT).
