Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Oncology Dosimetry Manager to join our team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and high-quality delivery of radiation therapy and non-diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily treatment planning activities for photon treatment locations
  • Work with department leadership, radiation oncologists, and other managers to deliver high-quality scanning/simulation services and radiation therapy treatments
  • Develop computer-generated radiation dose distributions and calculate radiation dose treatment times or monitor unit settings to deliver prescribed radiation to a defined tumor volume
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and quality checks on equipment
  • Supervise Photon Medical Dosimetry staff and provide training and development opportunities
  • Collaborate with senior managers, patients, physicians, and center staff to ensure quality-driven, customer-oriented work flow
  • Monitor billing activities for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Develop and implement protocols, policies, and procedures for treatment planning
Requirements
  • Graduate of Medical Dosimetry school or a graduate of hospital or college affiliated Medical Dosimetry school with clinical and classroom curriculum for duration of one year
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years medical dosimetry experience required
  • Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
  • Extensive knowledge of modern treatment planning systems, radiation therapy systems, and sub-systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of management experience in a radiation oncology department
  • Experience with CMS XiO preferred
