About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Internal Revenue Service as an Economist (12 Month Roster) in the Large Business and International Division. As an Economist, you will be responsible for conducting economic research and analysis to support the agency's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct microeconomic research and analysis to identify economic issues and trends.
  • Review and analyze economic, statistical, and tax data to determine the existence of potential economic issues.
  • Develop and implement effective work plans to conduct research and analysis.
  • Evaluate the arm's-length value of tangible and intangible products, services, and assets.
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in economics with at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
  • One year of specialized experience in microeconomic concepts, economic research, and analysis.
  • Experience with project management techniques and oral communication skills.
Working Conditions

This is a telework eligible position, and employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements. Employees must also be within a 200-mile radius of their official assigned post-of-duty (POD) while in a telework status.
