Job Summary

The Student Success Program Manager will play a vital role in facilitating the administrative operations for our nursing students from admission to graduation. This position will support the Student Success Coordinator, assisting with student learning processes and connecting them to resources for additional support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Student Success Coordinator and faculty to develop and implement a holistic, individualized plan for success with incoming and continuing students based on their learning needs.
  • Collaborate with Student Success Coordinator, academic advisors, and lead faculty on academic alerts.
  • Assist the Student Success Coordinator, working with lead faculty to confirm compliance with the progression contracts.
  • Plan and facilitate recruitment events (e.g., summer camps); plan and implement summer and winter student enrichment events.
  • Manage budget reconciliation for expenses related to the program, including events.
  • Analyze student referrals and performance indicators including progression, retention, graduation.
  • Help with the development and coordination of early intervention strategies designed to improve academic and social success and student in collaboration with faculty, advisors, and student support programs/resources.
  • Help with compilation and preparation of data analysis and reports to support student success programs.
  • Help develop a supportive relationship to help students feel a sense of belonging on their educational journey.
  • Assist the Student Success Coordinator to facilitate the connection to campus resources when students are faced with academic, financial, personal or mental health challenges.
  • Assist the Student Success Coordinator to facilitate strategies for early interventions and proactive support when common barriers to student success are identified.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of student connections and interactions.
  • Assist the Student Success Coordinator in generating data and reports to help identify barriers to student success.
  • Support students in distress, promoting safety, health and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with the staff of the SON-Simulation and Clinical Innovation Center to support student success.
  • Assist the Student Success Coordinator in the implementation, and evaluation of Holistic Admissions and support related activities.
Requirements
  • Must be a current University of Michigan-Flint School of Nursing employee.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Business, Nursing, Student Affairs or other relevant disciplines.
  • 2 or more years of experience in counseling, student advising, teaching or mentoring.
  • Demonstrated history of supporting, advocating for, and leading DEI initiatives and values.

Modes of Work

The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
