About the Role:
The University of Michigan-Dearborn's Dearborn Support is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to serve as a Dearborn Support Program Assistant. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to support the operations of the student food pantry and contribute to the expansion of basic needs and advocacy services to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the upkeep, restocking, and organization of the food pantry and advocacy office.
- Provide administrative support, including data input, reporting, intake of donations, and answering inquiries.
- Support volunteer management and training for the Student Food Pantry.
- Assist with outreach efforts to increase access to services, including tabling, creating marketing materials, and info sessions.
- Develop a comprehensive guide to existing resources on-campus and in the surrounding community.
- Support the expansion of partnerships with relevant organizations off-campus.
- Benchmark and research best practices for holistic and comprehensive student support services.
- Identify gaps in support services and outline an action plan to address student needs.
- Attend community meetings as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled as a student at UM-Dearborn.
- Must have some knowledge about on-campus offices and services.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must demonstrate the ability to follow direction, work independently, and creatively.
