Maintenance Technician Job Description

Beneke Wire Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, and other manufacturing-related devices, fixtures, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, and electronic components of industrial equipment.
  • Eliminate machine downtime, waste, unnecessary repairs, and reoccurring problems through P.M. and risk management activities.
  • Locate and fabricate spare parts and supplies as needed.
  • Promote and ensure that safety procedures and work instructions are maintained and followed.
  • Make prudent use of company supplies and equipment. Help maintain spares inventory.
  • Follow company work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a clean work environment consistent with 5s practices.
Requirements:
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Desire for improved results, including cost savings, equipment uptimes, and productivity results.
  • Desire to perform, troubleshoot, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
Preferred Skills:
  • PLC and AC/DC motor controllers experience necessary.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC's and Control Techniques Motor Drives is a plus.
  • Strong electrical skills for troubleshooting, repairing, wiring, and modifying high and low voltage systems on machines.
  • Strong mechanical background for machine maintenance.
  • Machining using mill, lathe, band saw, etc.
  • Metal fabrication including welding, brazing, and soldiering.
  • Plumbing, hydraulics, fluid power.
  • Pump maintenance and repair (diaphragm pumps mostly).
  • Building roof, grounds maintenance and repair as needed.

The applicant does not need to be strong in all listed skills, but must be willing to participate and learn on the job and/or attend training at the company's expense if requested.

Beneke Wire Company is a family-owned company founded in 1968 that is strong and growing. It's a company that has a small maintenance staff who covers tasks requiring many different skills. The plant is well maintained and ready to receive a qualified maintenance applicant.

Individual must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with comprehension.

A post-offer drug screen, physical, and background check will be required.

Must have a valid driver's license and be able to hold legal employment in the United States.
