About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team at Benchmark Spruce Point Inn. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of daily food production, preparation, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in daily ordering and inventory management
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of the kitchen to ensure cleanliness and organization
  • Lead daily meetings with the culinary team to discuss preparation and communication
  • Represent the culinary team at weekly F&B meetings and other leadership meetings
  • Manage the finances of the department, analyzing and controlling costs to achieve a profitable operation
  • Ensure thorough knowledge of food allergens and handle guest requests with a high sense of urgency
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to update and implement prep sheets daily
  • Guide the nightly cleaning of all kitchen areas and ensure the dish area is clean and organized for the next day's service
  • Assist the Executive Chef in creating, costing, and implementing seasonal menus and special menus
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a cook in a high-volume professional kitchen
  • Basic knowledge of food allergens and state health codes
  • Active Food Handlers certification
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds and be on your feet for long periods
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Desire to exceed expectations and have an energetic personality
