Job Summary

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical security controls, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities, and providing cybersecurity expertise to software development and O&M teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement technical security controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in data conditioning software to prevent security breaches.
• Collaborate with other engineers and technical experts to provide improvements to operational, test, integration, and development systems.
• Provide cybersecurity expertise and knowledge to software development and O&M teams to ensure the security of our systems and data.
• Implement Plans of Actions and Milestones and ensure required vulnerability scans meet the standards required to obtain and maintain an ATO from the Authorizing Official.
• Validate and verify system security requirements and establish system security designs for new and existing software and systems.
• Identify and implement appropriate information security architectures and functionality to ensure uniform application of security policy and enterprise solutions.
• Communicate with Program Managers and customer POCs when necessary, regarding Security issues of significant importance.
• Participate in agile team activities as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; 10 years in lieu of degree.
• Experience in security systems engineering.
• Able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing, technical individuals, and possess ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
• Possess a general knowledge of Linux and Windows OSs.
• Demonstrate experience with creating and validating evidence for A&A security controls.
• TS SCI with poly.

Desired Qualifications

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Possess a strong desire to learn and develop processes to improve the overall security of the environment.
• Experience with enterprise security scanning tools.
• Able to work in an Agile environment using project sprints and Agile Boards.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services cloud computing environments.
• Experience performing reviews, technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000.
