Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Financial Services Coder to join our team at Moses Lake Community Health Center. As a key member of our PFS team, you will be responsible for reviewing, coding, and posting clinical and hospital charges, as well as providing follow-up support to ensure claims and patient accounts are processed and managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and enter clinical charges accurately and efficiently.
  • Process daily batches and enter data into the PFS month-end spreadsheet.
  • Manage self-pay account activity and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Document correspondence and account actions in the Centricity system.
  • Attend provider training sessions and assist in training providers as needed.
Requirements
  • Must have specific knowledge and training in medical coding, typically acquired through completion of a certificate or license program in Medical Coding.
  • Be credentialed with a certified physician coder credentialing organization, such as AHIMA or AAPC.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage own duties and responsibilities on a fixed schedule.
  • Be able to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare providers, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to create tables and simple displays of information.
